Travel Visa

Canada welcomes more than 35 million temporary residents (non-immigrants) each year. Unless they are citizens of a visa-exempt country, individuals who wish to enter for a temporary purpose, such as

must apply for and be granted a travel visa to Canada.

Visitors to Canada must be able to prove their ability to support themselves during their intended temporary stay in Canada.

When applying with Infinite Access, it is our responsibility to oversee all aspects of the visa application, ensuring that all the requirements asked for by IRCC and the Visa Office responsible for processing our clients’ applications are met. We will prepare and submit the full visa application to the responsible Canadian Visa Office and follow-up with them, if needed. Contact us now to learn more about travel visas.

It is important to note that possession of a valid travel visa does not necessarily mean that the border service officer at the Canadian Port of Entry will admit the traveller to Canada. At the Port of Entry, all travellers must demonstrate that the purpose of their visit to Canada is of a temporary nature.

VISITOR VISA

The Temporary Resident Visa, also referred to as visitor visa, is a document issued by a Canadian Immigration Visa Officer outside Canada, showing that the holder has satisfied the requirement for admission to Canada as a visitor. Visitor visas may be for single entry or multiple entries.

As a general rule, visitors are admitted for a period of six months. Extensions and restorations may be applied from within Canada.

SUPER VISA

Parents and grandparents are eligible to reside in Canada under the new Parent and Grandparent Super Visa program. A super visa lets you visit your children or grandchildren for up to five years at a time. It is a multi-entry visa that is valid for up to ten years.

Both the parent and child or grandparent and grandchild must meet certain conditions in order to be eligible to apply for super visa. As a basic requirement, the visitor must be a parent or grandparent of a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident of Canada. A signed letter of invitation from the child or grandchild is also necessary. Other conditions such as being a genuine visitor to Canada who will leave by choice at the end of the visit are also considered.

If you want to stay for six months or less, apply for a visitor visa; if you want to apply for permanent residence, you can apply for Parents and Grandparents Sponsorship.

VISITOR VISA EXTENSION

When you first come to Canada as a visitor, either for leisure or business, visiting family, studying or working, your circumstances may change - you may want to extend your trip. Applying for a visa extension is not unusual. If you want to extend your stay in Canada longer as a visitor, you need to apply for a visitor record. A visitor record is not a visa.

A visitor record is a document that gives you status as a visitor in Canada and allows you to stay longer. It does not guarantee that you can leave and re-enter Canada. You must apply for a visitor record before your current status expires.

The federal government is wary of people trying to live in Canada permanently on a temporary visa. Because of this, the application process for a visitor visa extension can be complicated. Infinite Access is here to help you. It is our responsibility to thoroughly follow the application process as well as help you justify your request to extend your stay.

If your temporary resident status has expired but not longer than 90 days, you may apply for Restoration of Temporary Resident Status.

RESTORATION OF TEMPORARY RESIDENT STATUS

Many foreign nationals enter Canada and granted temporary visas to visit, work or study. If you wish to extend your trip, you may apply for an extension for your permit and/or visa. However, if you lose your current temporary resident status or your authorization to work or study and you still wish to extend your stay, you will need to make an application for Restoration of Temporary Resident Status. Missing to renew, extend or update your legal status in Canada may result in deportation.

You can only apply for restoration of temporary resident status within Canada. It is important to note that an applicant can only restore to an authorization that they held immediately prior to the restoration application.

Restoration of Status can be a confusing and an overwhelming application. We strongly recommend that applicants seek out the help of professional and experienced consultants.
